Dark Horse's New Venture

Dark Horse Entertainment has signed a deal with the Slovenia-based Strip Art Features to create Venture, a new company which will publish graphic novels and comic books that will then be adapted for theatrical and television projects. Its first release will be Blood Ties, a graphic novel by Belgian artist Hermann and writer Yves H. It's described as the Faustian tale of an honest police detective who leaves his peaceful suburban life for corrupt big city life. Venture is seeking a writer to adapt the material.

With Venture, Dark Horse Comics founder Mike Richardson and SAF chief Ervin Rustemagic plant to bring the works of SAF's European and South American artists and writers to the United States. Venture will operate from Dark Horse's offices as an independent producer and bring projects to studios and financiers on a case-by-case basis. Dark Horse Entertainment currently has offices on the Universal Studios lot.
