Hopper Explores Flatland

Dennis Hopper has agreed to star in Flatland, a 22-episode action drama television series. This will mark Hopper's first venture into television. No plot description has been released but the series is said to be in the vein of The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and it is being produced by the Ruddy Morgan Organization and Shanghai, China-based Hweilai Studios. The series costars Bumper Robinson (White Man's Burden), Phillip Rhys (Farewell, My Love), Francoise Yip (Romeo Must Die), Katherine Kendall (Swingers) and Liam Waite (Ghost of Mars). The series has not yet found a broadcaster or distributor in the United States, though Morgan and Ruddy claim to be in discussions with several major broadcast and cable networks. The show marks the English-language debut of the Hweilai Organization. It will also be shot exclusively on high-definition 24P digital video, which is the same format George Lucas is using for his Star Wars: Episode II.
