Self Dives into Sub-Mariner

With Marvel Studios waiting for the May 3 release of  Columbia Pictures' big-screen adaptation of Spider-Man and being in production The Hulk and Daredevil, the comic book company is also moving forward with another deal for The Sub-Mariner, based at Universal like The Hulk. Screenwriter David Self has signed a seven-figure deal to adapt and executive produce Sub-Mariner. Universal acquired the film rights to the project almost a year ago. The title character is Prince Namor, a half-man/half-amphibian from Atlantis who has a tempestuous relationship with surface dwellers: He helps humanity when in times of global threats but also fights us when angered by pollution of his underwater kingdom.
