Angel Does Double Duty for TNT

By Beth Hannan Rimmels

TNT has acquired exclusive off-network rights to the WB Network series Angel from Twentieth Television. The 88-episode library will cost TNT about $300,000 per episode. The deal was closed quickly during last month's NATPE conference in New Orleans. TNT outbid several competing networks. Scheduled to run twice each weekday beginning in the fall, Angel will join the network's daytime lineup, which includes Law & Order, NYPD Blue and ER. Angel, which was recently switched to Wednesday nights, is in its fourth season on the WB and is likely to be paired on TNT with fellow WB series Charmed.
