Hedlund Takes on Troy

By Beth Hannan Rimmels

Newcomer Garrett Hedlund has joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures/Village Roadshow Pictures' Troy. Director Wolfgang Petersen is scheduled to begin shooting on April 22, though the filming location is still up in the air because the original location in Morocco made participants uncomfortable due to the  possibility of war with Iraq. The film, based on Homer's epic version of the Trojan War, The Iliad, stars Eric Bana (the upcoming film The Hulk) as Hector, prince of Troy and Brad Pitt as Achilles. Hedlund will play Patroclus, Achilles' teenage cousin who wants to be a warrior. Luck was with Hedlund in winning the role. The Minnesota native only arrived in Los Angeles last month to pursue an acting career and Troy was his  first audition.
